Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Zagora

The adventure begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech, heading towards the High Atlas Mountains. As we ascend, we’ll reach the breathtaking Tizi N’Tichka pass, standing at 2,260 meters, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountain landscape.

Our first stop is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. This ancient ksar, famous for its traditional clay architecture, has served as the backdrop for numerous iconic films, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Seven Years in Tibet. After exploring the historic village, we’ll enjoy a scenic lunch with views of the ksar before continuing our journey.

Following lunch, we drive through the Draâ Valley, an oasis lined with palm groves and dotted with picturesque Berber villages. The road winds through the lush valley, offering stunning views of verdant landscapes framed by rugged desert mountains.

As we near Zagora, you’ll begin to feel the allure of the desert. Just a few kilometers from the town, we’ll embark on a memorable camel trek, immersing you in the tranquil desert atmosphere. The serene silence, expansive views, and the beauty of the sunset make this experience truly magical. We’ll conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay in Zagora.

Day 2: Zagora – Draâ Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll explore the palm oasis of Zagora, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience the local culture and witness the traditional lifestyle of the region’s inhabitants. The palm groves are home to a diverse community with rich cultural heritage and beautiful landscapes.

We then journey back towards Ouarzazate, stopping for lunch and a brief tour of the city. Here, you’ll visit the famed Kasbah of Taourirt and can explore one of the city’s renowned film studios, where many Hollywood movies have been shot.

Our return route takes us once more through the Tizi N’Tichka pass, ensuring that you experience the dramatic landscapes of the High Atlas from a different perspective. We’ll arrive back in Marrakech by evening, concluding this incredible journey.
